This is what I looked like in the 80's. Damn. I was hot.



Yep, it's me. It was actually a photo booth pic (4 for a dollar) taken at Walgreens and blown up to 8 1/2 x 11 on a Xerox machine back when I was promotions director for a radio station. Having been a poor punk (ever hear of a rich one?), it is the only surviving photo of me, other than one taken at Easter when my mom made me hide my hair under a big hat.


Knox gelatin, Aquanet Superhold, and the secret weapon - Dr. Pepper. Getting ready to go out was a group activity and generally took as long if not longer than our actual appearance in public. Being cool meant looking bored and unimpressed with everything. We were "peace punks", the antithesis of the skinheads and far cooler than the goths or the skate pukes because we weren't afraid to be pretty.
